클라리넷 연주자 손한요(Han Yo Son)는 한국과 해외를 아우르며 활발한 연주와 교육 활동을 펼치고 있는 클라리넷 연주자 중 한 명이다. 그는 세계적인 음악 교육기관인 커티스 음악원(Curtis Institute of Music)을 졸업한 후, 서울대학교 음악대학에서 석사학위를 취득하며 학문적 기반을 다졌고, 이후 미국 서던 메소디스트 대학교(Southern Methodist University)에서 최고연주자과정(Artist Diploma)을 졸업하며 연주자로서의 역량을 한층 더 확장시켰다. 또한 음악적 시야를 넓히고자 세종대학교 지휘과 석사과정을 수료하며 앙상블과 음악 전반에 대한 통찰력을 키워나갔다. 

 연주자로서 그는 미국 미시시피 심포니 오케스트라에서 수석 클라리넷 주자로 활동하며 미국 무대에서 실력을 인정받았으며, 예술의전당 페스티벌 오케스트라 수석, 수원시립교향악단 부수석, KBS 교향악단 부수석 등 국내 유수의 오케스트라에서 주요 포지션을 역임하며 폭넓은 레퍼토리와 안정적인 연주력을 선보였다. 

 교육자로서도 활발히 활동하고 있는 그는 한국예술종합학교, 한양대학교, 국민대학교, 강릉원주대학교, 건국대학교 등에서 겸임교수로 재직하며 후학을 양성해왔으며, 현재는 예원학교, 서울예고, 선화예고 등에 출강 중이다. 실내악에 대한 열정 또한 깊어, 현재는 화음쳄버오케스트라(Hwaum Chamber Orchestra)의 멤버로 활약하며 다양한 음악 활동을 이어가고 있다. 

 손한요는 깊은 음악성과 뛰어난 테크닉, 그리고 섬세한 해석력을 바탕으로 관객과 진정성 있는 소통을 이루어내는 클라리넷 연주자로, 무대 위의 연주뿐 아니라 무대 밖에서의 음악 교육과 기획 활동을 통해 한국 클래식 음악계에 기여하고 있다.

Han Yo Son is a distinguished clarinetist recognized for his dynamic presence both on stage and in the classroom. 

A graduate of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in the United States, he went on to earn his Master’s degree from Seoul National University, and further honed his artistry by completing the Artist Diploma program at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Deepening his understanding of ensemble leadership, he also completed graduate studies in conducting at Sejong University.

Han Yo Son has held prominent orchestral positions both in Korea and abroad. He served as Principal Clarinet of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra in the U.S., and has held key roles in Korea's leading orchestras including Associate Principal Clarinet of the KBS Symphony Orchestra and the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as Principal Clarinet of the Seoul Arts Center Festival Orchestra. As an educator, he has dedicated himself to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He has served as adjunct professor at institutions such as the Korea National University of Arts, Hanyang University, Kookmin University, Kangwon National University, and Konkuk University. He is currently on faculty at Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and Sunhwa Arts High School, three of Korea’s most prestigious arts academies. In addition to his orchestral and teaching careers, Han Yo Son is an active chamber musician and a current member of the Hwaum Chamber Orchestra, known for its innovative programming and artistic excellence. With refined technique, profound musicality, and an unwavering commitment to artistic growth,
